Pick where the story starts. Then build everything around it.

№ 1 — New career

Choose where it begins

Before the first transfer, you choose a country, pick a real town to call home, and shape the owner behind the club. Hometown FC starts as your place, not a preset team someone else already built — a whole footballing world that grows from your first decision.

№ 2 — The town

Grow the town

Your club is only as big as its hometown — and the town is alive. A Mayor, a Rival Tycoon, a Tabloid Editor, a Fan Leader, a Street Artist and four more named locals pursue their own agendas and hold long memories, and their opinion of you moves real levers: investment costs, sponsorship value, youth quality. Invest across the district and watch a village grow into a metropolis — richer sponsors, louder fans, a deeper youth pool.

Visible progression

Your club infrastructure visibly grows.

Your money works on three fronts — the town around you, the club itself, and your own stock-and-property portfolio. The facilities hub is where the club takes shape: basic grounds become an elite campus, with stadium, training, medical, commercial and operations upgrades all shown in one place.

№ 3 — The climb

Climb the pyramid

Fight up a five-division pyramid — through promotion play-offs, the domestic cup, and into Europe. Qualify for three continental competitions, play the group and knockout nights yourself, and bank prize money that rebuilds your club. Mind the books, though: overspend in the lower leagues and a club can go bankrupt. Strong European runs even lift your country's standing, earning your nation more European places over the years.

№ 4 — Your players, your nation

Build a nation

The youth you develop don't just play for you — they're called up for their countries, earn caps at the Euros and a 48-team World Cup, and come home worth more than they left. Your nation's strength is built from the players you raised; lift your academy and you lift a country.

№ 5 — Matchday

Matchday, simulated

Eight formations and six play styles meet in a tactical matchup, then follow the game live — chances, expected goals, weather and momentum all moving in real time. Tired legs fade, injuries force a reshuffle, suspensions stack up per competition, and the AI reacts with substitutions. Results reflect the team you built, not a coin flip.

№ 6 — Staff agency

Your coach has a mind of his own

Your coach picks from eight formations and six playing styles, and he holds his own tactical identity. Propose a change and the acceptance odds show up front: depending on whether he is an obedient company man or a stubborn auteur, he may buy in, grumble, or refuse outright — and forcing it costs trust and morale. Lose a few and he may quietly revert to his own system. You own the club, but you do not puppeteer it.

№ 7 — The dynasty

A life, not just a season

You're a person, not a spreadsheet. Draw a chairman's salary, grow a private fortune through stocks and rental property, and spend it on residences and cars — then date, marry and raise children, and weather the occasional family drama, where children are characters with trust, resentment, traits and paths of their own. Their portraits can reflect a blend of your owner's heritage and your partner's, then one of them may become your heir, prospect, liability or public figure.

Owner lifestyle

Your home is a status symbol.

Where you live is part of the game, not just a trophy cabinet. Every step up — from a rented studio to a Bel Air estate with its own pool, courts and helipad — raises your public image as the owner, the standing that colours how the town and the boardroom treat you.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is Hometown FC free, and is there pay-to-win?

Yes, it's free to play — and no, there's no pay-to-win, no energy timers, and no premium currency. The money your club earns is the only currency that matters. Optional purchases and rewarded ads are conveniences, never power you can't earn by playing.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your career lives on your device and plays fully offline — no account, no sign-up, no internet required.

Am I the manager or the owner?

You're the owner. A Sporting Director works the transfer market and a coach picks the line-up; they bring you proposals and you make the calls on transfers, contracts, budgets, staff, and the club's long-term direction.

How deep is the match engine?

It's a full simulation. Your coach picks one of eight formations and six play styles; you read the tactical matchup and follow each game live with expected goals, weather, fitness, fixture congestion and substitutions. Players are built from 32 attributes across six categories and 24 player roles — a poacher plays nothing like a target man — so no two feel the same.

Are there leagues, cups and European competitions?

Yes. Climb a five-division pyramid with promotion play-offs, chase the domestic cup, and qualify for three European competitions — a Champions, Europa and Conference tier — which you play yourself, group stage through the knockouts, for real prize money.

Is there a World Cup, and do my players get called up?

Yes. Your players and academy graduates are called up for their countries and can win caps at the European Championship (24 nations) and a 48-team World Cup. You follow the tournament day by day as a spectator while your stars represent their nations — and a strong tournament lifts their value.

Can I make my national team better?

Yes — this is one of the game's most distinctive systems. Your nation's strength is built from the real players you develop, so a thriving academy gradually turns a weak footballing nation into a contender. Raise better youth, and you raise a country.

What is the town, and does it feel alive?

Your club is only as big as its hometown. Grow it through 16 investments — from a youth pitch to a metropolis — and win over nine named locals (a Mayor, a Rival Tycoon, a Tabloid Editor, a Fan Leader, a Street Artist and four more) whose opinions move real levers like investment costs, sponsorship value and youth quality.

What is the dynasty system, and do family dramas matter?

Your owner ages, builds a fortune, dates, marries and raises children — and weathers the occasional family drama, where the choices you make leave scars your heir inherits. Children are characters, not counters: their portraits can blend your owner's heritage with your partner's, and one day you pick an heir to carry the wealth, the club and the legacy across generations.

Are there achievements?

Yes — 22 of them, spanning club trophies, town growth, personal wealth, dynasty milestones and the transfer market, from your first win to continental glory and a completed succession. Each unlock rewards cash and a news headline.

Can my club go bankrupt?

Yes — the finances have teeth. Overspend and you'll feel it, right down to bankruptcy and forced asset sales. Running the business well is how you win on the pitch.

When does it launch, and on which platforms?

Hometown FC is coming to iOS and Android; the release window will be announced. Join the launch list and we'll email you once, the day it's out.
